CROSS WORDS & MEMORY PUZZLE

The game is located in Venice3d on position 6.5N 11.5E 12a . The game board may vary in size : 12x12=144 cubes or 16x16=256 cubes. The game will be played with a minimum of 3 players (if less the game will be delayed/postponed) . Due to the limitation of the game board, the scoreboard consists of 10 players . Other visitors are welcome too and can participate too and can score points, but it will never be their "turn to play".

This is how the gameboard looks like when the game starts.
Gameboard view : when entering the world Venice3d , you will arrive at the game board, if you get lost, then teleport to position 6.5N 11.5E 12a . This is also mentioned in the world immigration message. Then fly up a little bit , and you will have a general view upon the gameboard. In the middle you will see a huge square of cubes with numbers (on white background), surrounded by a row of blank cubes (these blank cubes are just a border of the gameboard and don't have a game function) . Only these numbered cubes are part of the game board.
Cubes with numbers between brackets : At the side of the gameboard, you will see blue and green cubes with numbers between brackets. The numbers between brackets are "question numbers" .When an answer is solved by a player, then the game host clicks upon the cube with the corresponding question number. Then the confirmation of the correct answer will be shown in the chat window. At the same time, the numbered cubes of this word will change into red cubes and finally the game host deletes these red-coloured numbers, and the entire word is displayed on the gameboard.
Scoreboard : Behind the gameboard you have the panel with the participating players and their scores. The scores will be edited manually. At the left of the scoreboard, you will see the signs with the game instructions : the game host clicks upon these panels and makes appear the game instructions in the chat window. There is also a clock and a link to this webpage for the game rules.
Clickable objects : At the beginning of the game , the players cannot click anything, but when the game starts, then the game hosts reveals the letters which are hidden below the cubes with the white letters. Then all the players need to click upon the letters that appear on the gameboard, and they will see the question for the word(s) that need to be solved in the chat window (in blue text). The question is followed by a number between brackets, this is the question number , and is only used by the game host. Just like in a crossword puzzle, the solution can be an abbreviation, or can be an unusual word. But in this game board, the words can be displayed horizontally, vertically and diagonally, and also in reversed order! All words are in a straight line (not curved or circular or L-shaped). All letters of 1 word have the same colour, and each different word is displayed in another colour. And the words don't really cross with eachother, which means : there are no letters in common with other words. The answer must be completely correct (no wrong spelling or incomplete answer).
Current game rules :

How each "turn" will be played : - Who's turn is it ?

1. Player1 chooses 2 numbers : A yellow panel behind the player's scoreboard will indicate that it is his/her turn to choose 2 numbers on the gameboard. Player1 types the 2 numbers in the chat window (not in whisper). It is not allowed to choose neighbouring numbers, neither diagonally !! The game host will ask for another number instead.

If it takes too long to give the numbers ,(e.g. because a player1 is AFK) , then his/her turn will be skipped. The game host will ask first several times to choose 2 numbers before skipping a player's turn to play.
2. The game host reveals the numbers : Then game host clicks upon the 2 chosen numbers and reveals what is hidden below these 2 numbers. Below each number there is either a coloured letter or a picture (or symbol). Every player can click upon those coloured letters, and they will see the question (+question number) in the chat window. After having revealed what is below the 2 numbers , the game host starts the clock and player1 can start to play .

3. Player1 starts to play during 20 seconds : A green panel appears behind the scoreboard of Player1. Player1 has now 20 seconds time to give the answer(s) in the chat window. Using Google and other resources are allowed. It is allowed to give several anwers. The answer must be completely correct (no wrong spelling or incomplete answer). Other players can give answers too, even if they are not allowed to play, but their correct answer is valid only after the 20 seconds of player1. If player1 gives the correct answer too within those 20 seconds, then the points go to player1. If player1 does not takes the advantage of giving the correct answer, then the points go to the other player. So you can say : "Player1 has to priority to play during 20 seconds".

4. Playing time for all : The panel behind player1 turns again to yellow , this means that the "priority time" is over for player1. Now ALL the players can try to answer in the chat window. You can also give answers for other words on the gameboard which have not been solved yet.
5. Player2 chooses 2 numbers : The yellow panel of player1 turn to grey, and now a yellow panel appears behind the scoreboard of player2 , indicating that it is his/her turn to choose 2 numbers.
Meanwhile the game host will ask player2 to choose 2 numbers on the gameboard. All players can still try to answer while player2 chooses his 2 numbers. The playing time for player2 starts only when the game host starts the clock for player2, and the panel behind player2 turns to green.

While playing:
If you have a coloured letter below a number , then click upon this letter and you will see the question for this word in the chat window. The question is followed by a number between brackets. This is the question number, this is only used by the game host, and has NOTHING to do with the length of the word. Now try to give the solution for this question. The chosen letters remain displayed on the gameboard , and also the correct answers remain displayed on the game board. If you have solved a word, then you get 1 point per letter on your scoreboard.
If you have a picture (or symbol) below a number , then there is no question to be solved . After 20 seconds, the picture will be hidden again under the number that you have chosen, until someone has chosen the 2 equal pictures , this means that it's purely a memory game.
If your second number is a different picture, then you get 0 points. But if the 2 pictures are the same, then you get 6 points (=3 pts per picture ). There are 2 identical pictures of each kind on the game board. If 2 identical pictures are solved, then they remain displayed on the game board. We told already that you cannot choose 2 neighbouring numbers on the gameboard, as a consequence, 2 equal pictures will never be neighbours on the gameboard.
If a word appears completely : If a word appears completely on the gameboard, then type this word in the chat , otherwise other players will get away with the points .
*The game ends when all solutions are displayed and solved . The game should be finished in less than 1 hour.
Prizes : This game is just for fun. If you have an Awportals account, then you can get a badge :
Gamer with 15 points or more : Active player
Gamer with 50 points or more : Silver badge
Game winner : Golden badge

Former game rules :

New changes since the game introduction after game 1 :

1. There was the problem when someone entered later during the game , that the new player could not see which words already have been solved and which letters already have been chosen. The solution is to omit the 9e9 move commands . If 2 numbers have been chosen by a player , then the game host first clicks upon the 2 numbers , if below the number is a memory game symbol/picture, then this will be displayed during 20 seconds. If there is no reaction, then the number object will be "deleted" by the game host, and the letter appears permanently.
This will also solve the problem that , if you fly away from the game , or if you get disconnected, that the gameboard is preserved , it will not be reset.
Also the scores of the players will be modified manually , the scores will not be reset if you fly away or if you get disconnected.
2.There was the problem that a lot of time was lost when choosing the 2 numbers. Now the playing time will only start after the 2 numbers have been revealed. The play time for the individual player will be reduced to 20 seconds instead of 30 seconds.
3. It was not always clear whose turn it is to play. This will be indicated better. If someone wants to skip playing because he/she goes AFK , then this will be determined during 10 seconds while choosing the 2 numbers. The player must type the 2 numbers in the chat, not in whisper . If there is no reaction, then his/her turn to play is considered as "skipped".
The option for each player to choose : i play / i skip will be omitted from the game rules.
4. It will be indicated more clearly when and who is allowed to play. When it's 1 player, all players and no player. And it will be announced when an answer is given when it's not your turn, that it will be considered as invalid, even if the answer is correct.
5. If an answer is displayed completely, then you need to give the answer in the chat window.
New changes since the game introduction after game 2 :

6. People still didn't know when they were allowed to play, and even got confused by the game rules: The game rule for games 1 and 2 were like this : Player1 had to choose 2 numbers, then only player1 was allowed to play during 20 seconds. After that , all players were allowed to play during 10 seconds (including player1). Then the game was paused, this time is needed to modify the scores of the players. And during this paused time , all given answers were considered being invalid, because it is nobody's turn to play.
The problem was that some players gave answers during this paused time, and then the points went usually to the player who had its turn to play and who took advantage of the mistake of the other player.
7. The new rule for playing will be like that : Player1 chooses 2 numbers and then player1 can play during 20 seconds . These 20 seconds start when the game host starts the clock for player1. When this time is over , then everyone can play , there is no "10 seconds playing time" or "paused time" anymore, but the playing time runs until the next player starts to play.
8. If another player gives a correct answer during the playing time of player1 , but player1 does not take the advantage of the mistake of the other player, then the points for the correct answer will go to the other player , after the 20 seconds playing time of player1. So : a correct answer is now always valid , the only danger is , when it is another's player turn to play , then this player can take the advantage of giving the same answer during his/her playing time and take the points for this answer.
